More Options with Conventional Braces
The Process
On your first appointment with Denton Smiles, you will begin with an x-ray, an oral assessment and molds will be taken to create a replica of your teeth. We will then outline a treatment plan for you, and in some cases certain teeth have to be removed before treatment can begin. From here, you will have a plan that will last anywhere from 12 months to 24 and regular appointments will be set up for the gradual tightening of the braces that leads to straighter teeth. If you opt for the newer, self-litigating braces, then regular “tightening” won’t be necessary, though consistent check-ups are always recommended.
Even with the option of invisible and removable braces, conventional braces continue to be a good option for children and adults because of their effectiveness in correcting a variety of issues such as overbite, underbite, crossbite, and other alignment and placement issues that affect not only the appearance of the teeth but the function as well. They are also a more cost-effective choice when compared to invisible or removable braces.
